Our house
Welcome to La Colombaia Amiata. We are a small-scale Bed & Breakfast in Southeast Tuscany three km outside the village of Salaiola in the municipality of Arcidosso. Our B&B is located 830 meters above sea level. We live on the ground floor, the B&B rooms are on the upper floor, which is accessible without stairs. The guest rooms, each with its own bathroom, have been completely renovated and modernized.
The house is located in a wonderfully spacious wooded and sunny garden that also offers plenty of shade.
Our guests prefer to have breakfast in the sunny, covered loggia, with a view of Monte Amiata. For the less nice days we have the completely renovated dining room available.
Our rooms
We have two rooms, each with a double bed, which can be split into two single beds if desired.
Each room has a private bathroom with shower, toilet, bidet and sink. The rooms of the B&B have their own shared entrance. They are named after the 2 other mountains in this beautiful area: Monte Labbro and Monte Aquilaia.

Breakfast
We offer breakfast using an extensive menu.
You can have breakfast between 07:30 and 10:00.
Our garden
Our B&B is surrounded by a lovely garden with several terraces, sitting and lying areas, there is plenty of shade and a place in the sun at any time of the day.
Hot-tub or Cold-tub
In the summer you can cool off under the outdoor shower and in the cold tub.
Outside the summer season we use the Cold tub as a Hot tub.
For a fee, you can relax in this wonderful and enjoy the beautiful starry sky , which is truly impressive here.
Free WIFI
Wifi is available in the rooms and on the terraces.
Self service
On the first floor is a small pantry with a refrigerator, kettle, coffee machine and crockery and cutlery.

What is there to see and do in the area?
The area around Monte Amiata is quiet and authentic. Chestnut forests, vast mountain meadows, medieval villages and towns. Within a circle of up to an hour and a half you will find the beach, the historic cities of Siena and Grosseto, the lakes of Bolsena and Trasimeno, the Val d'Orcia with the towns of Montalcino and Pienza. In the immediate vicinity of our B&B you can enjoy hiking and mountain biking. And of course you can also enjoy the delicious Italian cuisine here in the area. In short, something for everyone.
Mount Amiata
The Monte Amiata is almost 1800 meters high. You can enjoy walking, cycling, skiing, picnics, etc. etc. And of course the view from the top is impressive. Click here en here for more information.

Val d'Orcia

We had wonderful days at this beautiful B&B. Everything emits tranquility and the location in nature is fantastic! The rooms are attractively decorated, very clean and the beds are good. Breakfast is also a moment of enjoyment, a view of the mountain and Monique's homemade products are delicious! Monique and Hans are very hospitable and helpful with all our questions. And in the beautiful garden there are many places to read a book or just relax. We will definitely come back here!

In questo B&B nato da poco e immerso nella natura, si percepisce subito l'intraprendenza e voglia di fare dei due gestori (marito e moglie) gentili, attenti e disponibili. Le camere accoglienti sono pulite e ben curate nei dettagli. Ci ha colpito anche la colazione (con prodotti di produzione propria come marmellate, pane e dolci) gestita in modo da evitare sprechi inutili di cibo e servita al di sotto di un delizioso porticato con vista splendida sulle colline. Nel giardino è anche presente uno spazio relax con lettini e vasca di acqua, e la sera grazie alla mancanza di inquinamento luminoso si può apprezzare il ciclo stellato.
Ci siamo trovati molto bene e siamo curiosi di vedere le evoluzioni dei progetti futuri.
